Public Announcement made by Rusty’s Angels
“Ralph came to us last summer after my good friend Nicole found him tied up outside of a tent in the homeless encampment near downtown Phoenix. His “owners” were inside the tent enjoying a reprieve from the heat while Ralph was standing in 108 degree sun. Nicole offered them $40 (which was all the cash she had on her). Ralph needed medical attention and thankfully they took the money and shortly there after Ralph found himself at Heaven On Earth.
Ralph was something else. He had the best personality and your typical chihuahua attitude. Thankfully he had no teeth so he couldn’t hurt you. Funny thing about him is he would put on this tough guy show but melt into your arms once picked up. 2 months after he arrived we removed both his eyes because they were causing pain and he was non visual.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago when Jack and his wife Nikki came to the Sanctuary to visit. They own a bar in Scottsdale called Dirty Dogg Saloon. Ironically this is one I used to frequent a lot in my previous life. They had done a supply drive for us over the holidays so they brought all they collected. I gave them a tour not realizing that Jack was a huge Chihuahua lover. When we entered Katie’s Kottage where our adoptable dogs live, both he and his wife fell in love with Precious, or so I thought.
Recently I did a post showcasing our adoptable babies. And shortly after Jack texted me asking if they could adopt Ralph. They decided that Precious would likely have a ton of interest so they wanted to open their home to our Ralphie. This was so very true.
Ralphie has gone from homeless and coo
ling himself by standing in water bowls in the Phoenix summers to a home where he gets to be spoiled rotten by the most amazing people. His siblings are the cutest dogs ever too.
Ralph is our adoption # 197 and we are over the moon happy for him and his new family. Thank you for opening your hearts and your home to such a special fellow. We will miss Ralph something fierce but are so happy for everyone. I mean look at the smile on his face in Dad’s arms “ We have included some great photos of Ralph and his new family and a few pictures from Rusty’s Angels Sanctuary
We hope that you will check out this great Arizona Animal Rescue.
